A teacher gave his life because the students had stopped going to his school in Pune, Maharashtra. He wanted to teach children but his dream remained unfulfilled. The incident is of Javjibuwa Wadi area of Daund district. The teacher also wrote a suicide note before dying.
According to the information, Arvind Deokar was transferred two months ago to the primary school of Javjibuwa Wadi. There was no cleanliness in the school. He didn’t want to teach students in filth. He wanted the children to get education in a clean place.
So he started cleaning the school himself with the help of the students. There were only 10 students in the school. At that time the students cleaned the school. But he told this to his family members. This angered the parents of the children. Firstly, there was only one teacher in the school. They were already angry about this. When they came to know that their children were cleaning the school, the parents of 9 children got their children released from the school. After this, the children were admitted to another place.
Later only one girl student remained in the school. She also stopped coming to school from the second day. When teacher Arvind came to know about this, he was very sad. He regretted this very much and in this despair he tried to commit suicide by consuming poison in the school itself. After consuming poison, he started having problems. After people got information about this, he was immediately admitted to a private hospital for treatment. But he died during treatment on Tuesday.
The teacher also wrote a note before committing suicide in which he said that he could not win the hearts of the students as well as the parents and because of this 9 out of 10 students moved to another school. I feel guilty and having lost my patience, I am sacrificing my body in the holy temple.
Arvind Devkar was working as a deputy teacher for the last 19 years and has also been awarded the Ideal Teacher Award. After this incident, there has been a stir among the people working in the education sector. Now this incident will be investigated by the education officer and the report will be submitted to the district administration.
