Indian sailors stranded in Yemen were brought back due to the tireless efforts of the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassies.

According to news, the sailors were stranded in Yemen since June 2023. The Indian sailors, members of the crew of the ship MT Maleeha, were at Nishtun port for more than three months. Rajasthan resident SP Singh, stranded in Nishtun port, thanked the Indian government for bringing back the Indian sailors.

Indian Embassy helped

He said that our captain brought us back with the help of the Indian Embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs. Another rescued person, Palash Giri from Bengal, said, our ship ran aground on June 21. The Indian Embassy helped us, otherwise we don’t know how long we would have had to stay there.
