Maharashtra: 2 Sons Of Police Officer Arrested For Doing ‘dirty Act’, Used To Make Objectionable Videos Of Women

Police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district have arrested two brothers for making objectionable videos of women and girls using AI. The accused were sharing these videos on social media. Officials said on Wednesday that this is the first such case in the state, in which AI was used to create objectionable videos.

Senior Inspector Kalyan Karpe of Arnala Marine Police Station said that both the accused, aged 19 and 21, are the sons of a police officer posted in Mumbai. He said that using AI, both the accused were allegedly making objectionable videos from photographs of women and girls.

Use of AI technology for cybercrime
This is the first case in the state in which AI technology has been used for cybercrime, said Sujit Gunjkar, senior inspector of cyber branch of Mira-Bhayander-Vasai-Virar police commissionerate. When the two girls objected to the video on Monday, the two allegedly assaulted them, police said.

The accused were arrested on Tuesday under Indian Penal Code section 354 (molestation) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). According to the police, further investigation is going on in the matter.
