Maharashtra: 3 Zika Virus Infected Patient Found In Kolhapur, Raising Concern Of People

Corona infection has now reduced. Due to this people have heaved a sigh of relief. Now a new virus has started to spread. In the month of August, a patient of Zika virus was found in Chembur, Mumbai. Now three new suspected patients have come to the fore in Ichalkaranji of Kolhapur. One of these three is a doctor. A patient with Zika virus was detected at Ichalkaranji Primary Health Center Tambemal. Two more suspected patients were found on 2 September. The blood samples of these three patients have been sent to NIV, Pune through a private lab. The report has not been received yet but it is expected to be received by tomorrow.

The first patient is a 38-year-old male neurophysician. It has its own clinic. He went to Konkan, had a lot of trouble with mosquitoes at the car parking space. After this he fell ill and sent his blood for examination. Zika like virus was found in it. After this patient, two more suspected patients have been found. One of them is pregnant and there are six people in the house of the suspected patient and samples of three of them have been taken for testing. The blood samples of all the patients have been sent to the laboratory of the National Center for Viral Research for further tests.

Since patients have been found in the village areas of Ichalkaranji. Therefore, the health department there became immediately active. Of these, two patients are undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Since Zika virus is mainly spread by mosquitoes, the Municipal Corporation has become active since Sunday. The work of drug spraying has been started by the Health Department. There has been a stir in Kolhapur district ever since this viral disease was detected for the first time.
