A shocking news has come out from Ghatkopar area in which a 34-year-old youth was thrashed fiercely by four people with bamboo and belt. After this matter came to the fore, many things are coming to the fore. A video of the injured person has surfaced in which he is making some other claim and something else has been written in the police FIR.
A young man whose name is Shahid Khan works in a private company as courier delivery, a video of him has surfaced in which he is in the hospital and he is saying that on the night of August 18 around 1:15 am, he was passing by Ghatkopar Ramabai Colony and was going to his home when 4 people stopped him and asked him for a lighter, when he gave the lighter, one of them lit a cigarette with that lighter and then when he asked for the lighter back, they joked with him- started having fun.
Not only this, when they came to know that his name is Khan, then their attitude changed and they started shouting different slogans at him. They asked him to say “Jai Bhim” first, when he said Jai Bhim then asked him to take the name of God and when he did not take the name of God, they started beating him mercilessly. Khan also told that all those people were seen under the influence of alcohol.
Whereas, according to the FIR registered by the police, all four of them asked for a lighter from Khan and when he asked for the lighter back, a fight started between them. While Khan told that they told Khan that what is the hurry, stop for a while. When Khan again asked for the lighter back, they abused his and then one hit him with a bamboo and then the other with a belt.
Khan further told in his statement to the police that “These four people hit me so much that my clothes were torn and I fell down and those people left from there, after which I woke up myself in an injured state and went to my home. Told everyone and went to the hospital”. Based on Khan’s complaint, the police registered an FIR under sections 326, 324, 323, 504 and 34 of the IPC against the four who assaulted Khan.
DCP Zone 7, Purushottam Karad, Mumbai Police, said that Jatin Sanjay Singh, 28 years, Vishal Gautam Jadhav, 27 years, Hrithik alias (Malti) Datta Kamble, 22 years and Mahendra Mukesh Singh, 21 years has been arrested.
Karad further told that the kind of things which are coming to the fore now did not come in our investigation, there was a dispute only over the lighter and both the parties had consumed alcohol. We produced all the four accused in the court where the court has sent them to police custody till 22 August.
