The police have opened an investigation into three individuals who are accused of assaulting a 49-year-old man on Monday night after an altercation between them.

PTI said that the incident happened in Ulhasnagar’s Vitthalwadi neighborhood at approximately one in the morning on Monday when the victim accidently shoved the accused while strolling.

The victim’s son said that the accused then became enraged and reportedly badly battered the victim’s father.

The victim’s father called his son on Monday morning to inform him that the victim had been beaten and was now in the hospital.

The victim was transported to a civic-run hospital in the Kalwa region after the complainant brought his father to a government hospital in Ulhasnagar due to respiratory issues.

The sufferer was transported to the KEM Hospital in nearby Mumbai since there was no oxygen bed there. There, he vomited and was subsequently pronounced dead, according to the FIR.

The three accused were then named in a police complaint made by the victim’s son.

According to the authorities, a friend of the dead told his son that he had seen the three defendants viciously assaulting the victim.

The three suspects were charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common purpose) early on Tuesday morning based on the complaint, the source said.

He said that no arrests have been made so far and that an investigation is ongoing.
