Udhayanidhi Stalin, a DMK lawmaker and minister for Tamil Nadu, has had a FIR filed against him due to his comment on “Sanatan Dharma.”

The matter has been reported to the Mira Road police in Mumbai under sections 153 A and 295 A of the IPC.

Tuesday in Tamil Nadu, a BJP delegation sent a document to the state police requesting the filing of a FIR against Udhayanidhi Stalin for his statements disparaging “Sanatana Dharma.”

Udhayanidhi, the Tamil Nadu government’s minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, attacked Sanatan Dharma in a speech at a conference earlier in Chennai, comparing it to “dengue, malaria, fever, and corona”.

Sanatan Dharma, he said, should not only be fought but also destroyed.

In a meeting of the Council of Ministers earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the controversy surrounding Udhayanidhi’s words and, according to insiders, instructed his ministers to vigorously defend Sanatan Dharma.

He instructed his ministers to provide data to refute the opposition’s claim about the Sanatan Dharma.

MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, said that it was unjust for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak on the “Sanatana Dharma” “without knowing what Udhayanidhi spoke of.”

The uproar “Sanatana Dharma” caused led to a political brawl across the nation. After the DMK leader compared “Sanatana Dharma” to “mosquitoes, dengue, malaria, fever, and corona,” the political adversary NDA and INDIA coalition have exchanged barbs.

The Opposition INDIA alliance of the Congress, Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Aam Aadmi Party distanced themselves from the DMK leader.
