Maharashtra: According To A Report, Recent Unseasonal Rains Killed Three People In Nanded District And Affected 10,000 Farmers

Three people were killed and over 10,000 farmers were harmed by unseasonal rainfall and thunderstorms this week in Maharashtra’s Nanded district, an official said on Friday. After rain and thunderstorms struck the Marathwada region on April 25 and April 26, the revenue department released a primary loss report on Thursday, he said.

The Marathwada area, which includes the districts of Jalna, Aurangabad, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad, and Beed, reportedly got an average of 2.4 mm of rain on April 25 and 4.6 mm of rain on April 26.

The two days with the greatest average rainfall, 10.1 mm and 10.8 mm, were in Nanded. According to the official quoting the information, three people died in Nanded as a result of the unfortunate weather occurrences. According to the report, eight people were hurt, including four in Nanded, three in Parbhani, and one in Beed.

According to the study, 5,487.7 hectares of agricultural land and as many as 10,008 farmers were impacted in the Nanded area. According to the official, inspections will be carried out using this information, and a final loss report will be created to permit compensation in accordance with the law.

The main loss report states that the unusually heavy rains and thunderstorms caused the deaths of 42 animals in Parbhani, 16 in Nanded, 8 in Beed, 3 in Latur, 5 in Jalna, and 1 in Osmanabad. It said that 1,020 chickens perished in Osmanabad. In these two days, the report stated, one pucca house, six huts, and 20 houses suffered partial damage.
