In Nagpur, Maharashtra, a 45-year-old alcoholic man fatally beat his 75-year-old father with an iron rod when the latter refused to pay him money for booze, according to police.
An official said that the suspect, identified as Amit Raipurkar, had been taken into custody.
The event took place on Saturday night when Amit, a driver, came home after drinking too much. He begged his father and wife for money so he could purchase alcohol, but they both refused. When his father attempted to defend his wife from the abuse, Amit struck him with an iron walking stick.
The official said that the elderly guy was transferred to a hospital where he was pronounced “brought” dead and that a murder case had been filed.
