There is big news about Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple administration has banned the use of mobiles in the premises of the Bhimashankar temple. It is being told that this decision has been taken due to the possibility of a huge crowd of devotees in the temple in the month of Sawan.
In Sawan, a large number of devotees from all over the country come to visit Bhimashankar. During this time there is a huge crowd in the temple premises. Taking photographs and making videos from mobiles in the sanctum sanctorum, main pavilion and premises of the temple may cause inconvenience to other devotees. Also, it may be difficult for other devotees to get darshan easily. Keeping this in mind, the temple administration has banned the use of mobiles in the premises.
Temple President Suresh Kaudre, Vice President Vikas Dhage Patil said that the use of mobile phones and photography have been banned so that no untoward incident happens and the sanctity of the temple is maintained. Suresh Cowdre said that devotees visiting Bhimashankar should not take photographs in the sanctum sanctorum, main mandap and temple area. Along with this, the Devasthan has appealed to cooperate by keeping the mobile phone switched off.
It has been said on behalf of the temple that despite the ban, if anyone is found using a mobile phone or taking pictures, punitive action will be taken by the temple. Use of mobile phones has been banned in Pune’s Bhimashankar temple area. This decision of ban has been taken in view of security.
