A very surprising case has come to light in Latur district of Maharashtra. Here a 27 year old man allegedly committed suicide. Police gave this information on Saturday. A case has been registered against the two persons under Indian Penal Code section 306 (abetment of suicide) and other relevant provisions.
Police said that the father of the man’s ex-fiance had threatened to give him Rs 1 lakh. Fed up with the harassment, the victim decided to take such a step. According to the police officer, the body of Shrihari Vitthal Potphale, a resident of Kadhala village in Chakur tehsil, was found hanging from a tree on September 19.
Potphale also allegedly recorded a video of the act, the officer said. Recently the victim was engaged to a woman, but due to some reason the relationship broke. However, the woman’s father threatened Potphale and also demanded Rs 1 lakh from him. The officer said that the man took such step due to harassment.
