Maharashtra: Man Carrying Cattle Beaten To Death In Nashik, Six Arrested

A sensational incident has come to light in Nashik district of Maharashtra. Here, a 23-year-old man carrying cattle in a vehicle was allegedly beaten to death by ‘cow vigilantes’. Six people have been arrested in this case. A police official said on Wednesday that on June 10, Lukman Ansari’s body was recovered from a ditch at Ghatandevi in Igatpuri area. After this incident came to light.

The official said that all the accused are associated with Rashtriya Bajrang Dal. He said that Ansari along with two of his associates were carrying cattle in their tempo on June 8 when around 10-15 people stopped them at Vihigaon in Sahapur in Thane district. These people took possession of the tempo and freed four cattle before taking the vehicle to Ghatandevi in Igatpuri area.

According to the officer, they stopped the tempo at an isolated place and started assaulting the three. During this, Ansari’s associates escaped from there, but he could not escape. The accused have claimed that Ansari died after falling into the ditch, but the police suspect that he died due to beating. According to the post mortem report, Ansari died due to head injury. Police have registered two cases in this regard.
