A man who kidnapped a four-year-old child from the waiting room of Kalyan railway station near Mumbai has been arrested by the Crime Branch team after 12 hours of hard work. When the kidnapper told that he had kidnapped the child for the greed of the son, the police were also surprised. The accused is a father of four daughters and wanted a boy so he kidnapped the innocent child. The accused Kachru Waghmare alias Bala is a resident of Nashik. He said, greed came in my mind and I committed this crime.
Karan Gupta and his wife Shubhangi Gupta make a living by working as laborers in Kalyan. They have a two-year-old girl named Kirti and a four-year-old boy named Atharva. On Monday, both of them came to the waiting room of Kalyan station to wash clothes, but due to non-availability of soap, they left the children playing there to get soap. Four other girls were playing there along with the two children and their parents were also there. Asking him to supervise the children, Shubhangi went outside the Kalyan station to buy soap.
When Shubhangi and Karan return, they find that the couple along with their son Atharva and four daughters, under whose care they had left the children, are missing. After looking nearby for their son, they went to the Railway Crime Branch and narrated the incident. Kalyan Railway Crime Branch immediately formed a team and started searching for the child. The police searched the CCTV footage from there which showed a person going out of the station with Atharva. Around 8 pm, a man carrying Atharva was seen on the platform of Kalyan station, who was preparing to go to Jalna. The police arrested him. When he was interrogated, he confessed that he had kidnapped Atharva in the desire of a son.
