Turmoil continues in the political corridors of Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray has got a big blow. Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council and Uddhav Thackeray faction leader of the Shiv Sena, Neelam Gorhe, on Friday joined the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. At the same time, BJP’s national secretary Pankaja Munde has dismissed all speculations about her joining the Congress.
Munde will file a defamation case
BJP’s National Secretary Pankaja Munde said that a few days back a news came that I have met Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi twice. I am leaving BJP and joining Congress. Such news is absolutely false.
He said that I swear that I have never talked to the leader of any party regarding joining his party. I have never seen Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi in person. I am going to file a defamation case against the channel. He said that my career is not worth a penny, lakhs of people are associated with me. This also raises questions on my reputation.
Neelam Gorhe changed sides
On the other hand, the Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe has changed her side. She has left Shiv Sena with Uddhav Thackeray faction and joined Shinde faction. Gorhe joined the party on Friday in the presence of CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Neelam Gorhe was considered very close to Uddhav Thackeray. Now changing his party in such a situation is a big blow for Uddhav Thackeray. Neelam was the leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction since the split of the Shiv Sena. Neelam has been continuously elected to the Legislative Council since 2002. Neelam has been elected to the Legislative Council 4 times in the years 2002, 2008, 2014 and 2020. At the same time, from July 7, 2022, she is the Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council.
