Amidst the movement for Maratha reservation in Maharashtra, the Dhangar community has also raised the demand for reservation. The protesters from the community handed over a demand letter to BJP leader and minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil for this. Meanwhile, he lashed out at the minister. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil is the Revenue Minister in the Government of Maharashtra. The members of Dhangar Reservation Kriti Committee threw this turmeric on the minister. There was a stir when turmeric was suddenly poured on the minister. The security personnel and supporters present on the spot caught the young man while throwing turmeric.
The incident with Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil took place at Solapur Rest House. Some people of Dhangar Aarakshan Kriti Samiti reached there on information about the minister’s stay at the rest house. First, he talked about meeting the minister and giving the demand letter. When he got a chance to meet the minister, he handed over the demand letter to the minister, then took out turmeric from his pocket and put it on the minister. After this, the protestor also raised slogans for the reservation of Dhangar community. The demand of Dhangar community for reservation in ST quota is more than 10 years old, which has not yet been fulfilled. The protesting youth was taken into custody after the incident of throwing a lighter during the memorandum on the minister.
