A 48-year-old Dalit man was brutally killed for not being able to repay a loan in Maharashtra’s Latur district. The case is of the Renapur area of Latur. According to the information, Giridhar Tabkale had taken a loan of Rs 3000 from moneylender Laxman Markand on interest. But due to poor financial condition, he could not pay the EMI of interest.
Because of this, the moneylender beat up Giridhar on 23rd May. And also threatened that if he did not repay the loan, he would kill him. Giridhar informed the police about this. But the police also took the matter lightly and did not register any case against the moneylender.
According to a news report, Giridhar had informed the local police about the brawl that took place on May 23, but the police allegedly did not register any case in it.
When the moneylender came to know that Giridhar had gone to the police station to register a case against him, he was furious. He made a plan to kill Giridhar. Then on June 2, he suddenly came to Giridhar’s house with one of his relatives, Prashant. Both put red chili powder in Giridhar’s eyes.
The dalit man died during treatment
Then both together made him fall and started kicking him on the chest and legs. Then also attacked him with an iron rod. Giridhar could not defend himself even after wishing and was seriously injured. The family immediately admitted Giridhar Tabkale to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
Police in question
Giving information about the incident, a police officer said that both the accused had been arrested for the murder of Giridhar. The investigation of this matter is going on. At the same time, the police are also seen to be surrounded by questions in this whole matter. If Giridhar had reached the police station on May 23 to file a report, then why didn’t the police register a case?
