The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that the stalled monsoon journey in Maharashtra and the country could resume from June 23. Meanwhile, light showers are taking place at different places including Mumbai, Konkan. At the same time, due to the cloudy sky, people have got relief from the heat.
According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, heat stroke alert is given due to the increase in the heat in Maharashtra. Today the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain with lightning at different places in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the cities of Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Dhule today.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light to moderate rain in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani and surrounding districts today. Whereas the weather will remain dry in Sangli, Solapur, Beed, Latur, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, Yavatmal districts. In such a situation, people here will have to bear the scorching heat.
According to the information released by the Indian Meteorological Department, between June 18 and 21, favorable conditions are developing for the further advance of the southwest monsoon. But according to the forecast for the next four weeks released on Thursday, there is less chance of rain in the state during the week of June 16 to 22. According to the model, from June 23 onwards, isolated parts of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha are likely to receive above average rainfall.
Meteorological Department official Anupam Kashyapi told that the formation of pressure in the Arabian Sea from Maharashtra to Kerala will give a boost to the monsoon in the Arabian Sea. Monsoon may enter Pune and Mumbai between June 18 and 22 but he also said that we will have to wait for some more time for the monsoon to enter Vidarbha along with the northern part of the state.
