Maharashtra: Rain In Mumbai, Heavy Rain Recorded In Mahabaleshwar And Nashik, Know The Latest IMD Alert

Monsoon, which has been active in entire Maharashtra including Mumbai since Thursday, made a strong presence in the Konkan region on Friday. After the speed of rain increased, the rain warning was updated by the Meteorological Department. Orange alert was issued in South Konkan as well as North Konkan. Heavy rain was also recorded in Mahabaleshwar and Nashik during the day on Friday. But the rain situation in the rest of Maharashtra is still worrying. In the fourth and last month of monsoon, rainfall deficiency was recorded in 16 districts.

Friday 8.30 am to 8.30 pm in Mumbai. During 5.30 pm, 70 mm rainfall was recorded in Santa Cruz and 46 mm rainfall in Colaba. Heavy rain occurred in the western suburbs since morning. Alibaug recorded 52 mm rainfall and Ratnagiri 34 mm rainfall. Mahabaleshwar recorded 79 mm rainfall, while Nashik recorded 62 mm rainfall. However, the pace of rain was not very high in the remaining districts of Central Maharashtra.

At present, there is rain deficiency in 16 districts of Maharashtra, while 17 districts are in the average category. Jalna district has the highest rainfall deficiency (47 percent). There is 40 percent rainfall deficiency in Sangli, Satara districts of Central Maharashtra. A decrease of 37 percent has also been recorded in Ahmednagar. In Marathwada, the loss is 32 percent in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 38 percent in Beed, 37 percent in Hingoli, 30 percent in Parbhani. The deficit in Vidarbha’s Amravati is 37 per cent, Akola 33 per cent, Buldana 23 per cent and Washim 20 per cent.

According to the forecast for the next four weeks released by the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Konkan, North Madhya Maharashtra, parts of Marathwada and parts of Vidarbha from September 8 to 14. There may be rain in parts of Konkan Division, Vidarbha during September 15 to 21. Average rain is expected from 22 to 28 September and from 29 September to 5 October. Therefore, the focus of the farmers is on what relief will be provided by the rain for the next 15 days, how much will be the deficit of rain and whether it will provide any benefit to the farmers.
