MUMBAI: While Konkan region is likely to receive red alert rains, the state is yet to receive sufficient rainfall for sowing. According to the forecast for the next four weeks, there is no chance of heavy rainfall in other regions except Konkan region. The Indian Meteorological Department has given the information about average rainfall in the state in July.
The state currently has a 30 percent rainfall deficit. Additional rainfall has been recorded in Palghar district till the first week of July. Whereas the rainfall in Mumbai Suburbs, Raigad, Thane, Nashik, Nandurbar, Latur, Bhandara, Gondia is in the average range.
According to the forecast for the next four weeks issued by the Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday, July 6, good rains are expected in Konkan during July 7 to 13, July 14 to July 20, July 21 to July 27. During the week of July 7 to 13, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha will experience rain at some places. However, it is clear from the current forecast that there will not be much rain in most of Maharashtra during the period from 14th to 20th July. During the week of July 21 to 27, however, there may be rains in the entire state. After that, the amount of rain is likely to decrease once again during the week of July 28 to August 3. It may rain in Konkan during this period.
