Maharashtra government has made a big announcement before Diwali and Ganpati. The government has approved the decision to provide ration for Rs 100 in the entire state. This ration kit will include one kilogram of chana dal, sugar, cooking oil and semolina (rava). This ration kit will be available only to the ration card holders. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given this gift to the ration card holders.

Apart from this, CM Eknath Shinde has also approved the decision to completely ban casinos in the state. During the last monsoon session, a bill was planned to be introduced to legalize casino and online gaming. Against the backdrop of Goa, several operators have sought permission to operate casinos in the coastal region of the state. However, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been consistently arguing against the idea of legalizing casinos in the state under the Maharashtra Casino (Control and Taxation) Act 1976.

It is worth noting that last year also Maharashtra government had given gifts to the public before Diwali and at that time also announced to give ration kit for Rs.100. Similarly, this time also the Shinde government has approved the decision to give ration kits to the public for Rs.100 on the occasion of Ganpati and Diwali. This time also the kit includes chana dal, sugar, cooking oil and semolina.
