Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has said that after Patna and Bangalore, now the meeting of the opposition India alliance will be held in Mumbai. He said that this meeting will be held on August 31 and September 1. The meeting will be hosted by Shiv Sena UBT President Uddhav Thackeray himself.
Raut said that in this meeting, leaders of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be with him as hosts. Raut told that even today he talked to many leaders including Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Prithviraj Chavan, Nana Patole, Ashok Chavan regarding the meeting of the I.N.D.I.A.
The first meeting of the ‘I.N.D.I.A’ alliance was held in Patna in June and the second in Bangalore last month. The alliance may announce the structure of committees for tasks like election campaign before the 2024 elections. According to sources, a joint secretariat will also be announced soon for better coordination between the opposition parties. During the meeting, the parties are expected to iron out their differences as much as possible, especially in the states where they are in direct electoral battle.
At the Bangalore meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced the name of the opposition group ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (I.N.D.I.A.) after a nearly four-hour meeting of 26 parties. He had said that a committee of 11 members would also be constituted for coordination and a coordinator would be selected in the next meeting in Mumbai.
