Western Railway Authority informed that some trains will be affected due to Major Technical Upgradation at Dahanu Road Station on Wednesday i.e. today. According to Sumeet Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Western Railway, “Western Railway will keep a mega block of 3 hours at Dahanu Road station for technical upgradation. This block started from 8.50 am today which will end by 11.50 am.”
Some long distance trains and Mumbai suburban trains will be affected by this block, the official said. He further informed that trains will be regulated and short-terminated at Dahanu Road station during the mega block of 3 hours.
Yesterday i.e. on Tuesday, Western Railway had converted 49 local train services from 12-coach to 15-coach services from August 15.
Western Railway said on the social media platform ‘X’ (earlier known as Twitter), “In keeping with the initiative to provide better train services on the Mumbai suburban section, We have converted 49 12-coach local train services to 15-coach services from 15th August 2023. There will be no change in the total number of services, i.e. total 1394 trains including 79 AC locals will remain in service.”
Earlier, Western Railway had installed an A.C. Due to technical problems in the local train, some A.C. Local trains were cancelled, which were being rectified. In a statement on the subject, the Public Relations Officer of Western Railway said, “Please note that AC services have been canceled due to technical glitches in one of the AC local, which is being rectified at the car shed.” He further added that, in the morning, running A.C. local train with the door open is a separate issue, which was temporary and has been addressed.
