Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that Maharashtra will make a new law in this regard here after studying the Love-Jihad law made in other states. He was speaking to reporters after a function at the Police Training Academy in Nashik.

Devendra Fadnavis, who is also in charge of the state Home Ministry, said that many such cases have come to the fore in which girls were converted after getting married. The demand for enacting a law to stop this is rising from all sides. We have announced to make this law in the assembly also. According to this, laws made on love-jihad in other states are being studied. After the completion of this study, a similar law will be made in Maharashtra as well.

Regarding the Supreme Court’s verdict on Rahul Gandhi on Friday, Fadnavis said that some people call it good when the Supreme Court pronounces its verdict in his favor and bad when it pronounces against it. Such people are destroying the institutions created under the constitution. Recently, the Shinde-Fadnavis government was being criticized by the opposition parties for shifting some big industries to other states.
