Thane, May 29 In Maharashtra’s Thane district, a tragic incident unfolded as a man reportedly murdered his 35-year-old wife after persistent arguments related to her inability to conceive, according to authorities on Monday.
The distressing event occurred on Sunday evening at the couple’s residence in an ordnance factory colony situated in the Ambernath area. Subsequently, the 37-year-old man was apprehended by the police, as confirmed by an official from the Ulhasnagar control room.
The man was employed at the ordnance factory, as disclosed by the police.
The official stated that the couple frequently engaged in disputes due to the woman’s inability to conceive. On Sunday, following another altercation, the accused allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon. Tragically, the woman collapsed and passed away on the spot.
Upon receiving a notification from a workers’ union representative at the factory, the police promptly arrived at the scene. They subsequently dispatched the victim’s body to a government hospital for postmortem examination, as reported by Police Inspector J B Sonawane to PTI.
The man was apprehended on Sunday night, and authorities have filed a case against him under Indian Penal Code Section 302 (murder), according to the official statement.
