In the eastern neighborhood of Ghatkopar, a man was detained on Tuesday for reportedly sexually abusing his live-in partner’s 10-year-old daughter.
According to an official, the event happened in the neighborhood of Asalpha, where the accused, his girlfriend, and her two kids resided.
He said that the accused had repeatedly sexually abused the girl while pretending to be playing a game with her.
The abuse was discovered when the youngster confided in her aunt, who then reported it to the police, the official added.
According to him, a complaint has been filed against the defendant under sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural offence), and other pertinent Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act provisions.
