A special POCSO court in Thane exonerated a resident of Bhiwandi in a rape case.
A Class IX girl was allegedly kidnapped on July 30, 2013, and raped for three days at the home of the 28-year-old man’s sister.
The victim was also raped, according to the prosecution, at the homes of his relatives in Shahapur and Bhiwandi.
When he learned of his daughter’s trauma in August of that year, her father filed a complaint with the Padga police station.
According to the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the guy was accused of rape and other crimes.
The Special Court (POCSO) Judge PM Gupta said in an order from September 6 that no evidence had been presented to show the girl was less than 18 at the time of the offence, that she had been coerced into travelling with the accused, or that she had been imprisoned forcibly.
