Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, said on Sunday that the BJP administration had developed the state more over the last 20 years than all preceding monarchs, nawabs, and governments combined.

Speaking at the inauguration of his government’s ‘Vikas Parv’ initiative in the state, where Assembly elections are only a few months away, he was in Dhar. By laying the cornerstones for a number of development projects totaling more than Rs 4,000 crore, he officially began the program in the districts of Dhar and Barwani.

“Our government brought more development to the state in the last 20 years than what was done during the rules of erstwhile kings, emperors, and nawabs, as well as previous regimes put together,” Chouhan remarked.

“We are making a difference in the lives of the people. I don’t have the term ‘impossible’ in my lexicon, he said. He discussed the Ladli Behna Yojana, a financial aid program for women that his administration inaugurated earlier this year.

As part of the Vikas Parv initiative, Chouhan also laid the cornerstone for development projects totaling Rs 2,771 crore in Dhar, including the Kukshi Micro Lift Irrigation Project. According to sources, the chief minister in Barwani lay the first stones for a number of construction projects totaling Rs 1,328 crore.
In Barwani, Chouhan also staged a road show.

He said at the opening ceremony there that “We are creating ‘Smart Classes’ in government schools, through which teachers from big cities like Delhi and Mumbai can be connected.”

Up to August 14th, several projects will have their foundation stones placed as well as finished works dedicated to the general public around the state as part of the Vikas Parv program. Events like public engagement, road shows, and beneficiary conventions will also be organized as part of it, according to authorities.
