More than 11,000 complaints, according to BJP leader and former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur, are still seeking resolution after the “Jan Manch” program for public grievance redress was discontinued.

The top opposition leader in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Thakur, also claimed that concerns sent to the chief minister’s hotline number 1100 were not being addressed.

“Jan Manch” was the BJP government’s premier venue for resolving public problems. Ministers and staff from many ministries would come to hear people’s complaints and provide immediate remedies.

The folks are in a pitiful situation as they wait outside the ministers’ and chief minister’s cars for justice. He said that this is not promising for the government.

The “indifferent” attitude of the top brass, according to Thakur, has harmed governance since lower-level officials are following suit.

He remarked, “Strangely, the chief minister is not updated during his visit to districts,” and he encouraged the Congress administration to develop a system for handling citizens’ grievances.

The state administration should respond quickly and provide answers to the more than 11,000 complaints received via the CM’s hotline, according to the previous chief minister.

He said that 4.50 lakh complaints were resolved via Jan Manch and the hotline during his time as chief minister.

Earlier, Thakur accused the Congress administration in Himachal Pradesh of borrowing Rs 8,000 crore in loans in six months and shutting over 1,000 government facilities, including schools, power offices, and subdivisional offices, while speaking at an event in the Seraj Assembly seat.
