Mumbai: Court Sent Accused Chetan Singh To Railway Police Custody, Team Reached Mumbai For Investigation

The incident of firing in Jaipur-Mumbai Express train in Palghar, Maharashtra has shocked everyone. The passengers present in the train are protected by the Railway Police, but this incident of firing has raised questions on the security itself. While the accused Chetan Singh was presented for hearing in Borivali court. The court has sent the accused Chetan to the custody of the Railway Police till August 7.

A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable allegedly shot dead four people in a train on Monday. At the same time, the Railway Board has constituted a high-level committee regarding this matter, whose members have reached Mumbai. Giving information on the matter, officials said that railway police constable Chetan Singh shot dead RPF assistant sub-inspector Tikaram Meena and three other passengers with his automatic weapon near Palghar railway station.

The inquiry committee comprises Principal Chief Security Commissioners of Western Railway and Central Railway, Principal Chief Commercial Manager of North Western Railway, Principal Chief Medical Director of North Central Railway and Principal Chief Personnel Officer of West Central Railway. Officials said that the committee has been asked to submit its report to the Railway Board in the next three months.

After the incident, as a precaution, the team of Chandpa police station of Hathras reached Meetai village of Chetan. There, Chetan’s uncle Bhagwan Singh said, Chetan was troubled by back-and-forth duties and frequent transfers. His colleagues, the officers, knew that he was mentally disturbed, so the department should not have given him the weapon.

Constable Chetan was frantically chanting the names of Modi-Yogi and Thackeray after shooting four people in a moving train. He said that all the four people who have been killed are operated from Pakistan. If you want to live in India, you have to say only Modi and Yogi. However, which Thackeray Chetan was referring to is not clear in the viral video. The veracity of the video has also not been confirmed yet.
