Mumbai: Stabbing Frenzy Leads To Two Kitchen Knife Deaths And Three More Injuries

Share

What started as a suspicion developed into a full-fledged hatred and rage. On Friday night at the Parvati Mansion, a dilapidated chawl on a busy alley on Lamington Road in Bombay, 54-year-old Chetan Gala pursued and stabbed five individuals. According to the authorities, he thought his neighbours were to blame for his family leaving the residence they shared.

His family had left because of ongoing marital disputes, leaving the guy in an unstable mental condition ever since. He observed neighbours who resided in the building on Friday afternoon in several apartments, according to the police. He yelled at them for a while before running inside and returning with a kitchen knife to assault his neighbours. Jayendra and Neela Mistry, two of them, passed away from their wounds while receiving medical attention at the hospital.

The chawl faces out onto the main road and is near to a Mumbai Metro stop. Passersby gathered and recorded recordings of Gala stabbing people as she moved about. A huge disturbance broke out as the guy proceeded to stab and injure his neighbours, and someone contacted the police. Police officers from the D B Marg Police Station hurried over and disarmed the guy who was standing there with a knife. Gala allegedly admitted to the police that his neighbours had encouraged his family to abandon him and move out. Because of Gala’s tendency to alter his account of his home issues, the police have been unable to pinpoint the precise moment when his family abandoned him.

According to the police, the accused has been detained and an offence under IPC 302 (murder) has been filed against him.
