Nagpur and Vidarbha facing heat wave as climate change phase begins in the state, warns Meteorological Department :Nagpur: Phase of climate change has started in the state. The unseasonal rain has subsided and Suryanarayan has also started moving with equal vigor. The mercury in the state is rising rapidly and has crossed the 44 degree Celsius mark. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning in the city. The temperature in Vidarbha along with the district may exceed 45. According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, heat wave will continue in the state for the next four days. The intensity of heat will increase day by day and citizens will have to face heat. The end of this week and the beginning of next week will be warm. The mercury in Akola crossed 44 degree Celsius on Friday. Other cities also recorded temperatures above 41 degrees Celsius with unseasonal rains in April and early May bringing down the temperature. Now since the middle of May, the sun has started to shine. Warm winds are blowing from north in Vidarbha. Due to this, the weather department has informed about the sudden rise in temperature. The people of Vidarbha have to bear the scorching heat throughout the month of May. The mercury has crossed forty in almost all the districts of Vidarbha. A low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has developed into a cyclone called Mokha. Therefore, due to the increase in the speed of the warm winds coming from the north-west, a sudden rise in temperature is seen. Therefore, there is a possibility of heat wave in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra along with Vidarbha. Currently, the people of Nagpur are facing the scorching sun since morning. Although Vidarbha has got used to this temperature, the temperature has started rising in the cities of Mumbai and Pune for the past few days. The Meteorological Department has warned of increasing heat wave in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra along with Mumbai. Health authorities in the state have also appealed to the citizens to be alert and to be careful.
