Party officials claim that the X (previously Twitter) account of the split Nationalist Congress Party, which is run by Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister, and others, has been suspended for more than a month.
The @ncpspeaks1 account has been suspended for breaking its rules, according to a notice that is shown on X, but no other information is provided.
According to reports, the NCP, headed by Sharad Pawar, had a complaint about the breakaway group’s X account (@ncpspeaks1) since it resembled its own official account. The X account, according to sources in the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, is expected to be reinstated on Wednesday.
Nephew ahead of uncle in numbers game
There are a total of 41 MLAs in Ajit Pawar’s camp while Sharad Pawar’s camp has 11 MLAs. The total number of NCP MLAs was 54, out of which one MLA has died and the role of Nawab Malik is not yet clear. Ajit Pawar rebelled against his uncle Sharad Pawar and joined hands with BJP in July. On behalf of Sharad Pawar faction, a petition has been filed with the Assembly Speaker to take action against a total of 41 MLAs as per List 10. The Speaker of the Assembly has not yet given notice to any NCP MLA to present his side.
