Since the beginning of the monsoon this year, authorities said that 22 people had perished in Thane and 13 in the Palghar district as a result of rain-related events. After serving as the chair of a review meeting on Saturday, Thane Collector Ashok Shingare provided information on fatalities in his district.
According to him, 300 people are staying in shelters in the area. Since the area is prone to flooding, he added, a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has been stationed in Kalyan.
13 people have perished since the start of the monsoon, according to Vivekanand Kadam, head of the Palghar District Disaster Management Cell. He said that 79 individuals had to be relocated to a shelter in Vasai, and 399 dwellings had suffered minor damage.
To address crises connected to the monsoon, an NDRF unit is stationed in the Vasai region of the district, according to Kadam. While two animals were electrocuted in Palghar, authorities said that four animals died in floods in Thane around this time.
