On Sunday morning, an unfortunate incident occurred on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in the Palghar district. An oil tanker, while in transit, overturned, leading to a disruption in the smooth flow of traffic. However, the silver lining in this incident is that no casualties were reported.
According to officials familiar with the matter, the spillage of oil from the overturned tanker had a significant impact on the movement of vehicles along the busy route for a duration of approximately two hours. This incident was promptly reported at around 5:30 am by Sub-Inspector Irshad Sayyed of the Charoti police outpost, who stated that fortunately, no one was injured during the accident.
The overturned tanker, carrying a substantial load of 33 tonnes of vehicle engine raw material oil, resulted in a spillage that spanned a length of about one kilometer along the highway. This spill occurred in close proximity to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) check post within the Dapchori limits.
