Pakistan former Prime Minister Imran Khan has got a big relief in the three cases were filed against him after violence that took place after his arrest on May 9. Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court on Friday granted pre-arrest bail to Imran Khan. The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) granted him bail till June 2 and directed him to be part of the probe. One of the cases registered against Khan pertains to the attack on the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore.
Addressing reporters in the ATC courtroom after bail, Imran Khan said he had never seen such “action” by the government in the last 35 years. Imran khan said, “It seems as if all fundamental rights are gone, only the courts are now protecting human rights.” Khan further said that he would fight “till the last ball” come what may. on 9 May former PM Imran Khan arrest by the paramilitary Pakistan Rangers at the IHC compound sparked unrest in Pakistan. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, protesters stormed the Army Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and set fire to a corps commander’s house in Lahore. After which the government accused Imran of promoting violence.
Police put the death toll in the violent clashes at 10, while Khan’s party claimed 40 of its workers were killed in firing by security personnel. Explain that top military officials have spoken of punishing those who attacked civilian and military establishments under the relevant laws of the country, including the Pakistan Army Act and the Official Secrets Act.
