On the last day of his first State visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in Washington, DC. Modi said at the outset of his address that India-US relations had the power to alter the course of the twenty-first century. He referred to Indian-Americans as “pillars” in the growth of America, saying, “With your labour and dedication, you have all helped America achieve great heights.”

He said that the cooperation between the US and India is not based on convenience but rather on commitment and compassion. ‘India’s extraordinary achievement,’ according to Modi, was also a result of the nation’s citizens’ hopes. He urged American businessmen to make investments in India, saying, “Our administration promises that doing business would be simple. The whole globe has benefited whenever India has become more powerful.

The PM said, “Today’s technology handshake at the White House is a clear signal to the firms, manufacturers, and inventors of both nations: This is the time. The US and Indian governments have already laid the foundation for you. Now, though, it is up to you to cultivate this space.

He said that during the previous two years, American businesses have made over 16 billion dollars in investments in India.

Modi said that since India is the world’s youngest country that it has the largest answer to the issue of ageing. We have the world’s youngest talent pool. Therefore, nations working with India will inevitably gain.

An invitation-only meeting of diaspora leaders from throughout the nation will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Centre immediately after this event, with the emphasis being on their part in “India’s growth story” and will be open to only those who have attended the previous event.

According to Dr. Bharat Barai, chairman of the US-India Community Foundation, “more than 600 people will be seated here to attend the programme, and about 350 people will watch PM Modi’s speech on the big screen.”

“Neither did we create a flyer nor did we send a single email. Through word-of-mouth alone, the registration was finished in three to four days, according to Barai.

We came across the Ronald Regan Building, which we thought was lovely, but we need to have the US Secret Service’s and the Prime Minister SPG group’s okay for all of the preparations’, added Barai. Everyone will be treated to supper at the conclusion, he said.
