Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a tour of Australia. Here he met the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese. During this, PM Modi talked about the attacks on temples in Australia and the increasing activities of Khalistanis in the country. Addressing reporters, Modi said that it is not acceptable that anyone hurt the friendly relations between India and Australia.
Regarding India-Australia cooperation, PM Modi said that it is important for regional peace, stability and global welfare. He further said that we have already talked about the attacks on temples in Australia and the activities of separatist elements. Even today these issues are discussed. It is not acceptable to us that anyone, through their actions or ideology, should harm the friendly and cordial relations between India and Australia.
It is being told that the Prime Ministers of both the countries have also decided to focus on strengthening a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA). This is expected to significantly expand bilateral trade ties. At the same time, both sides have also decided to focus cooperation in the areas of green hydrogen.
Modi thanked the Australian PM for taking action against those involved in such incidents. He said that Prime Minister Albanese has once again assured me that he will take strict action against such elements in future also.
Modi said that this is our sixth meeting in the last one year. This shows the depth of our relations. In a joking manner, the PM said that if we say in the language of cricket, then our relationship has entered T20.
On this occasion, the two sides also discussed constructively on strategic cooperation in the areas of mining and critical minerals. Albanese announced that Australia would set up a new Consulate General in Bengaluru. At the same time, before the talks, Modi was given a ceremonial guard of honor at Admiralty House in Sydney.
