On a daylong visit to the UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed here on Saturday. While there, he would meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discuss the two countries’ expanding bilateral relations.

Following a fruitful two-day trip to Paris, where he participated in the Bastille Day parade with French President Emmanuel Macron as the Guest of Honour and inked many agreements to further bilateral relations, Modi landed in Abu Dhabi.

The President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Al Nahyan, will speak with Prime Minister Modi.

In his last remark before leaving the country on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi stated, “I look forward to meeting my friend, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”

“Our two countries are engaged across a wide range of sectors, such as trade, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defence, and robust people-to-people ties,” he added.

The emphasis of Modi’s visit to the UAE is anticipated to be on energy, food security, and defence as the two nations assess the development of their bilateral ties after the signing of a historic trade pact.

During the Covid-19 epidemic, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which provided the economic relationship between the two nations a new direction, was signed.

India and the UAE collaborate in a number of areas, including commerce, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, military, and strong interpersonal relationships.

The majority ethnic group in the UAE is Indian expatriates, who make up around 30% of the total population. According to UAE data, there will be 3.5 million Indian nationals living there in 2021.
