PM Modi Inaugurated Scientific Progress Expo, Lays Foundation Stone Of Various Projects Worth Rs 5800 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the program organized on the occasion of National Technology Day 2023 at Pragati Maidan. During this, PM laid the foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 5,800 crore related to science and technology.

At the event, PM Modi said that his government has used technology as a source of empowerment and to ensure social justice. Be it the trinity of Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and mobile, the Covin portal, or the digital market for farmers, his government has used technology as an ‘agent of inclusion’.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Wednesday, the event will mark the beginning of the celebration of the 25th year of National Technology Day. The festival celebrations will be held from May 11 to 14.

According to the PMO, strengthening scientific institutions in the country is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant India. Projects for which foundation stones were laid include Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory-India (LIGO-India), Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Jatani, Odisha, and Platinum Jubilee Block of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

During the event, the Prime Minister also inaugurated an expo showcasing the scientific and technological advancements made in India in the recent past. A commemorative stamp and coin were also released on the occasion. The celebration of National Technology Day was started by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1999 to honor Indian scientists and engineers.

Modi to inaugurate International Museum Expo on 18th

Union Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the International Museum Expo 2023 in Delhi on May 18, i.e. International Museum Day. The event, which will be held at Pragati Maidan’s hall number two and three, will also give the audience a chance to know about the cultural heritage of museums across the country.

Union Minister informed that the International Museum Expo 2023 will be organized in Delhi from 18 to 20 May. During this many cultural activities will be organized. It is being organized in the second phase of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
