On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bestowed uncommon compliments on Madhavi Latha, the new BJP candidate running against AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi in Owaisi’s home constituency of Hyderabad for the Lok Sabha. “‘Aap Ki Adalat’ is an amazing episode, Madhavi Latha Ji. Along with logical reasoning and emotion, you’ve made some excellent points. Best wishes to you,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pleading with everyone to watch the show.
Madhavi Latha predicted on the show that Owaisi would lose by a margin of 1,50,000 votes in this election. Madhavi Latha claimed, “If we had bogus votes, we could continuously win for 4,000 years,” accusing Owaisi of receiving 6 lakh bogus votes. So what should be done? Our votes are legitimate. Owaisi possesses 6,20,000 fraudulent votes. The same voter ID can appear twice if you enter the same EPIC number on the EC website. He has 1,60,000 forged votes in the Charminar region alone.”
Despite Hyderabad’s reputation as a high-tech hub, the BJP candidate said that the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency is in disarray, citing a recent instance in which a Muslim girl was sold to an Arab man in his seventies.
According to a Nasscom report, nearly one lakh of the three lakh new IT jobs generated in India last year were in Hyderabad. Yet, just 2–3% of the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency was hired for those positions. Additionally, even if a constituency member is hired well, they move away from the area. They wish not to remain here, “Madhavi Latha remarked.
Regarding her candidature against Owaisi, she stated, “TV news networks informed me of my selection. I am lucky to get the ticket and be able to meet Modiji now. How come you are a yogi? He chose me just because of my (social) job; he didn’t meet me or get to know me. For the past twenty years, I have been involved in philanthropic activity. In the next eight to ten months, I pledged to guarantee 1,009 normal deliveries in the Hyderabad LS constituency at no cost. Regarding Modi Bhai, what more can I say? He handed me the ticket without knowing me while he was sitting in Delhi and thought I might challenge Asad Ji (Owaisi). Is there a political system that is more transparent than this one?”
