PM will visit Shirdi today and showcase projects and development plans in Maharashtra

According to authorities on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to come here on Thursday for a brief visit. He is expected to do darshan at the renowned Shirdi Saibaba Temple and unveil projects valued at Rs 7,500 crore for Maharashtra.

The introduction of the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, which will provide an annual benefit of Rs. 6,000 to over 86 lakh farmers in the state, and the consecrating of the Nilwande Dam here will mark the highlights. The canal network is valued at Rs. 5,177 crore.

Modi dedicates the left bank of the 85-kilometer Nilwande Dam canal, which will provide piped water to 182 villages spread over six talukas in Ahmednagar and one in neighboring Nashik.

He will do pooja and have darshan of the Samadhi of Saint Saibaba, who is respected by all communities, in Shirdi. He will also open the new Darshan Rang Complex inside the Saibaba Temple premises.

With a total capacity for 10,000 people, the complex offers pilgrims state-of-the-art amenities including air-conditioned rooms, waiting halls, booking centers, prasad kiosks, restrooms, drinking water, etc.

Later, in the pilgrim town, the prime minister will lay the groundwork for a number of development initiatives that will assist other regions of the state, including roads, trains, healthcare, and oil.

These include, among other things, the AYUSH Hospital at Ahmednagar Government Hospital, the 186-kilometer Kurduwadi-Latur railway line’s electrification, the 24.46-kilometer third and fourth railway lines connecting Jalgaon and Bhusawal, the four-lane stretch of the national highway 166 between Sangli and Borgoon, and projects at the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.’s Manmad oil terminal.

Over 5,000 security officers have been stationed in Shirdi town for the visit, and he will subsequently go to Goa for more engagements.
