The source of the threat email has been identified as an IP address that may be connected to a server in Germany or Russia, according to police, who are looking into a bomb hoax that was sent to the Indian School in this city last month.
Two bomb threats were made against the Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, Delhi, with the most recent coming on April 12 through email. In November 2022, there occurred the first phone conversation. Both threats turned out to be false.
The school was shut down after receiving the email threat, and bomb teams went to work. After a five-hour search, nothing unusual was discovered.
“During our inquiry, technical analysis showed that the claimed email threat was delivered via an IP address connected to a server in either Germany or Russia. According to a senior police official, investigations into such incidents are challenging since certain standards must be followed in order to conduct them on international soil.
In the instance of Indian School, the IP address used to send the email was tracked during our inquiry to a server in Germany and one in Russia, according to a police official who has been studying similar cases. Therefore, if one student commits such a crime, it is feasible that other students may get inspired and attempt to do the same crime, perhaps just for fun.
“However, anytime a pupil is seen engaging in such behavior, they are counseled. However, given the recent spike in bomb threats made by email, it is critical that students get counseling and be informed of the significant repercussions of their actions, the expert said.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police is looking into the matter.
On May 11, a threat email was also sent to Delhi Public School, located on Mathura Road. A senior police official made the observation that the technological inquiries into this bomb threat email indicated that a student was involved since the purported threat was issued from his email address.
However, the pupil has denied being involved.
