Pope Francis Expressed Grief Over The Baleshwar Train Accident, Said- May God Give Place To The Souls Of The Dead At His Feet

Pope Francis on Sunday expressed grief over the train accident in India on June 2. He said that my prayers go out to the victims of the train accident in India this week. News agency ANI has given this information. It may be known that so far 288 people have died in the gruesome train accident in Balasore, Odisha, while more than a thousand people have been injured in the accident.

He said, “My prayers go out to the victims of the train accident that took place in India on Friday, June 2. I express my condolences to the injured and their families. May God rest the souls of all the deceased at His feet.”

It may be noted that the horrific train accident in Odisha’s Balasore took place due to the collision of three trains, which included two passenger trains Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and Coromandel Express as well as a goods train. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told that this incident happened due to change in electronic interlocking.

It may be known that many countries including Russia, Australia have expressed grief over the Odisha train accident. Expressing deep condolences to the families of the victims in this accident, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said that we are all deeply saddened to hear the news of this accident. Same, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong also expressed grief over the accident.
