Mukesh Singh, the additional director general of police for the Jammu zone, traveled to numerous towns along the Jammu-Srinagar route on Saturday to assess the security preparations for the approaching Amarnath Yatra.
To assess the security arrangements, Singh traveled to Lambar-Banihal, Ramsoo, Ramban, and Chanderkot with top police personnel. On June 30, one day before the yatra’s planned start date to the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine in the Himalayas, the first group of pilgrims will depart for Kashmir from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu.
The ADGP spoke with commanders from the CRPF and the Army and inquired about the logistics provided to the soldiers deployed en route. He requested that the policemen stationed at vantage points carry out their assigned tasks with the greatest care to ensure that the pilgrims feel safe and protected, according to the police.
Additionally, he gave the J&K State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) troops instructions to be extremely watchful, attentive, and to move quickly to begin rescue operations in case any unanticipated tragedy to a pilgrim occurred due to any natural or man-made catastrophe.
The ADGP was joined during his visit by Senior Superintendent of Police of Ramban district Mohita Sharma and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban) Sunil Gupta.
Benam Tosh, senior superintendent of police for the Samba district, presided over a meeting of all the security organizations to discuss the yatra’s arrangements. According to the police, all of the officers have been told to remain vigilant, collaborate superbly, and sensitively exchange information inputs in order to thwart the evil plans of anti-national individuals and their mentors over the international border.
