Professor Molested Woman In Flight From Delhi To Mumbai, Bail After Arrest

A case of alleged molestation with a woman has come to light in a flight going from Delhi to Mumbai. A female doctor on board a flight has accused a passenger sitting near her seat of sexual harassment. Giving information about this on Friday, an official said that the accused is a professor and the incident took place on Wednesday. In her complaint, the woman said that the 47-year-old accused professor touched her inappropriately following which an argument broke out between the two.

The police officer said that the seat of the 24-year-old victim was next to that of the accused in the flight that took off from Delhi at 05.30 am. He said, “The woman doctor in her complaint stated that shortly before the plane landed at Mumbai airport, the accused touched her inappropriately. After this, an argument broke out between the two and the victim informed the flight crew, who intervened. He said that the victim reached the Sahar police station after getting off the plane.

The police officer said that on the basis of the victim’s complaint, a case of sexual harassment was registered against the professor and he was arrested. Sahar police have registered a case against the accused under sections 354 and 354 (A) of the IPC. As per reports, the accused was sent to judicial custody when he was produced before the court, however, after the lawyer applied for bail, bail was granted and he was released. The police officer said that the matter is being investigated.
