According to MPCC President Nana Patole, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will start a new padayatra (foot march) from Gujarat to Meghalaya, and during that time, party officials and supporters in Maharashtra would go across the state.

In order to engage with the public and “expose” the BJP-led administration at the federal level and the Eknath Shinde regime in Maharashtra, he said, the opposition party would also travel on a bus yatra the next month. The BJP is a member of the Shinde administration.

Gandhi will get a warm welcome from the party when he lands in Mumbai for a meeting of the opposition coalition INDIA at the end of August, according to Patole. Gandhi’s membership in the Lok Sabha has been reinstated as a result of the Supreme Court staying its decision to uphold his conviction in a defamation case.

“When Rahul Gandhi begins his padayatra from Gujarat to Meghalaya, we will launch one in Maharashtra. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has provided us with the plan (to conduct the march in the state),” Patole informed reporters at this location.

Gandhi’s next march’s dates were not provided by the Maharashtra Congress president, who said that they will be revealed later.

The former president of the Congress started his Bharat Jodo Yatra in September of last year, and it ended in January of this year after traveling 4,000 kilometers from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Eastern Vidarbha, which includes the districts of Wardha, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Gondia, Bhandara, and Nagpur, is where Patole claimed he would personally conduct the padayatra.

According to the Congress MLA, the march would be led by opposition leader in the assembly Vijay Wadettiwar in western Vidarbha’s Amravati, Washim, Buldhana, Akola, and Yavatmal.

According to him, Varsha Gaikwad, the president of the Mumbai Congress, would lead the yatra in the financial center while former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan will lead the march in western Maharashtra.

According to Patole, the padayatra in the Marathwada area would be led by former chief minister Ashok Chavan, while senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat will oversee the program in north Maharashtra.

Later, the coastal Konkan area would be covered, and Patole, Thorat, Ashok, Prithviraj, and Wadettiwar will lead the march through Thane, Palghar, Raigad, and Sindhudurg.

The leader of the MPCC said that the party has designated observers for each of the state’s 48 Lok Sabha constituencies.

By August 16, these observers will report to the state Congress with advice and recommendations that might benefit the organization, he added.
