In New Delhi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized on Tuesday that a strengthened collaboration between India and the United States would serve as a force-multiplier for upholding the rules-based world order globally, particularly in response to China’s assertive expansionist maneuvers in the Indo-Pacific region.
Referring to India and the US as “natural partners,” Singh underscored the imperative need for advancing together in both strategic and business domains amid the prevailing global geopolitical landscape. He stated, “India and the US support a free, open, and rules-based international order,” emphasizing substantial alignment in strategic interests.
The Defense Minister highlighted the mutually beneficial nature of the economic relationship between the two countries, describing it as a win-win proposition. He emphasized the current relationship’s foundation on shared values and aligned interests, guaranteeing its long-term sustainability and robustness. These remarks were made during a conference hosted by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
Singh outlined the Indian government’s efforts in laying the groundwork for a resilient and self-reliant ‘New India,’ indicating that investments from the US could play a pivotal role in realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). He clarified that India’s Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) policy does not entail isolation from the global system but is grounded in collaboration with friendly nations for shared security and prosperity.
