Reece Topley, a bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore, dislocated his right shoulder while fielding during a match against the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
Englishman Topley’s injury condition will be known once the scan findings are in, according to RCB head coach Mike Hesson.
“Unfortunately, he dislocated his shoulder after landing on it when his knee sunk into the ground. After the team’s victory on Sunday, Hesson told the RCB YouTube channel, “It was fortunate enough (for us) that the physicians were able to put it back in.
He is now leaving for a scan. Reece can maybe join us if the early reports are good. We will have to wait and see what happens, but maybe he will be okay, if not.
With an eight-wicket victory against MI in front of their home crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here, RCB got off to a great start to the season. But, now that Topley has joined the list of injured players, the team management will be concerned as the competition continues.
If Topley is out for an extended period of time, he will sit on the sidelines with players like right-handed batsman Rajat Patidar and quick bowler Josh Hazlewood. Hazlewood will probably miss the first seven games of the IPL, while Patidar, who is dealing with a heel issue, would likely miss at least the first half.
Hesson said that “it does not get much better than that” in reference to RCB’s convincing victory against Mumbai Indians, which was their fourth straight victory since IPL 2021. We bowled and played on the field with an amazing level of fervour.
According to him, “we got early wickets in the powerplay, which is something we wanted to achieve from last year, but we kept it together with the ball and our batting was great.”
