The Eknath Shinde administration has chosen to issue permission for five years at once to organizers throughout the state rather than requiring them to apply each year, which is a huge relief to Ganeshotsav Mandals.
“Our administration has decided that rather than granting permission for Ganesh Mandals annually, we will do it for a period of five years. They can focus on their preparations and feel less anxious as a result, according to Deepak Kesarkar, the guardian minister for Mumbai.
Every year, the local municipal body and police station had to provide permission for Mandals to celebrate Ganeshotsav. Mandals often submitted their applications late, which resulted in late clearances and hampered planning.
All Ganesh Mandals must get the local authority’s approval before erecting and embellishing their Pandals. In addition to receiving police approval, they also require a NoC to connect to a temporary energy supply. With Ganeshotsav beginning on September 19, the Shinde government’s most recent decision is therefore a major relief for the Mandals in Mumbai, Pune, and Nasik.
Since coming to power, the ‘Mahayuti’ administration has placed more of a focus on Hindu holidays and urged people to participate and enjoy them widely.
Similar to previous year, the BJP and the Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena have set up special trains and buses for the Konkan area to make it easier for the many Mumbai residents who are from the Konkan to go.
The state government celebrated Navratri, Deepawali, and Gudipadva on a grand scale the previous year. The government’s efforts to organize and celebrate the festivals in an effort to draw in the state’s urban population seem to be a deliberate move in advance of the anticipated local body elections this year.
