Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena stated on Sunday that one should not be arrogant about one’s degree and that some individuals remain ignorant despite having had an IIT education in a dig at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Saxena was questioned over Kejriwal’s remarks criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credentials and raising doubts about the validity of his degrees.
“I have heard the honorable chief minister’s remarks in the Assembly. It is never appropriate to brag about one’s education. The true measure of education is found in your knowledge and behavior, not in a degree.
“I’ve seen the considerate behavior throughout the last several days. It’s been shown how some IIT graduates continue to lack literacy, the LG remarked.
Since the Gujarat High Court recently overturned a seven-year-old order of the Central Information Commission (CIC), which had asked the Gujarat University to provide information on Modi’s degree to Kejriwal, the Delhi chief minister—who attended IIT—and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have launched a new attack on the matter.
